* Candidates for whom the results of XII standard are yet to be announced should submit an undertaking stating they will submit marks statement for XII standard or any equivalent Marks statement within 7 days of the announcement of results The Undertaking shall be submitted in the prescribed format. In case, the candidate does not meet the minimum eligibility criteria i.e., securing a minimum of 45 % or 40 % (in case of SC / ST) when the results are announced, the University reserves the right to cancel the seat allotted to the candidate.

No. In order to take admission under CG Domicile SC/ST/OBC/DFF category, in addition to CG domicile certificate, the candidate has to produce a SC/ST/OBC/DFF issued by a competent authority from the State of Chhattisgarh.

Those students who have been upgraded from other NLUs to HNLU, Raipur are required to pay the difference amount of fee in the account details given as under:

  • The counselling fee paid by the selected candidates to the CLAT Consortium shall be transferred to HNLU and shall be adjusted against the total fees to be paid towards 1st Semester.

Withdrawal and refund will be governed as per the UGC Rules as given below:

Application for withdrawal and refund must be made in the prescribed format (Admission withdrawal form) and sent to: admission2022@hnlu.ac.in with a copy marked to registrar@hnlu.ac.in

A means-cum-merit Scholarship is on the anvil and will be implemented from the even semester. The details will be announced in the website shortly.

  1. There are separate Air Conditioned Dining halls for boys and girls inside the hostel complex.
  2. The charges towards Dining is paid by the student in advance from June to December / January to June separately to the University which is paid to the contractor by the University.
  3. Currently the charges are calculated at the rate of Rs138/- per day and includes Breakfast (including coffee & Tea b. Lunch C. Evening Coffee & Tea D. Dinner.

To be eligible for admission under the NRI Category Seats, the applicant should be an NRI Candidate and must have appeared in CLAT – 2022 under the NRI category.

The NRI sponsored candidate quota has been abolished since 2021

To be eligible for admission under the Foreign National Category Seats, the applicant should be a foreign national who has passed senior secondary (10+2) with 45% marks from India or abroad.

  • The First Year UG students will be provided with shared accommodation with attached balcony in the new block of the hostel.
  • Second to Fifth-year boys and girls have separate hostels with furnished single room accommodation and attached balcony.
  • Single room accommodation for Post Graduate boys and Girls
  • State of the art kitchen and Air-conditioned dining complex for girls and boys inside their respective halls of residence.
  • RO drinking water, solar-powered hot water facilities in the bath areas.
  • The hostel complexes have an in-built well-equipped gymnasium complex, indoor sports and recreation rooms with televisions.

Hostel Rooms are NOT air-conditioned. However, the students can install a portable air cooler with the help of outside vendors.

Note: Any other gadget like AC / Refrigerator / Microwave oven/ Toaster/ Coffee Maker/ Electric Kettle/ TV/Music system are strictly prohibited

Medical Centre

The University has tied up with a leading medical centre of the city to provide on-campus consultation of Male and Female doctors in the morning and evening. The Clinic located in the Utility Centre has beds and essential pharma stocks.

University Ambulances

The University has two ambulances to ply to the city hospitals.

Insurance Cover for University Students

The University is in the process of signing with an insurance company to provide an insurance cover to students starting from August / September 2022.

Counselling Facility

The University has an online counselling facility with a professional counselling agency called ‘Your-DOST’.

Visiting Psychiatrist on Campus

The University has added in this year the services of a Psychiatric counsellor to have on campus consultation twice a week and off campus consultation at city. 

The University campus is equipped with advanced internet facilities. The Learning Resource Centres, Classrooms, and the hostel block for I Years is equipped with Wi-Fi internet Connectivity.

Internet Connectivity in the hostel bloc dedicated for II Year – V Year is provided through LAN Cables. Students are advised to bring a 2 metre LAN Cable to access internet in these areas.

The city transport corporation operates air-conditioned buses at frequent intervals which can be boarded in front of the University Main gate.

Additionally, the University has two buses of 50-seater capacity which shuttles from Raipur city at specific intervals.

The University arranges laundry services on campus. They visit the University hostels on specific days for collecting and delivering.

  • COLOSSUS: HNLU’s landmark social and cultural event with an average outlay of 25 Lakhs
  • HNMCC: Premier Moot Court Event with an outlay 30 + Lakhs

 Both are a must participate signature events among the law school circuit.

Both boys and girls have a state-of-the-art Gymnasium in the central hostels with indoor badminton courts and table tennis facility.

Outdoor sports facilities inside the campus include a Football ground with a proposed synthetic running track around it, a Cricket ground, Lawn tennis court, two Basketball courts and one Volleyball court respectively.

The Swami Vivekananda Airport is 15 minutes’ drive from the campus and the Raipur railway station is 35 km from the campus.

The university has a beautifully designed three-storied library with air-conditioned reading halls having a seating capacity of 400 students at a time. The library has numerous modern stacks with a varied and rich collection of textbooks, journals, reference books and periodicals. The library regularly subscribes to useful legal databases such as Manupatra, Westlaw, HEIN Online, SCC Online, AIR Web world, Lexis Nexis, EBC Reader, Legit Quest, JSTOR, etc. The university also has online access to 77 Cambridge Journals. It also provides environment-friendly spacious lounges which are just below the open-to-sky area protected from rain and direct sunlight by transparent polymer sheets.

  • The book issuance is from 9.30 to 5.30 on all working days of the University
  • The reading halls are open from 9.30 to 10 p.m. on all days and from 9.30 to 12. P.m. two weeks prior to the final exam of the semester.
  • The University has 21 air-conditioned, well-furnished and spacious smart class equipped lecture halls meeting the advanced standard of academics.
  •  Another 6 rooms are under furnishing stage.

The University has a night canteen in the halls of residence, Bank, ATMs and a Utility Centre having eight shops operated on a contract basis that sell snacks, ice creams, beverages and minor needs. There is also a unisex salon inside the Utility Centre

The Classes will be conducted in physical mode and the attendance policy as prescribed by the Bar Council of India to be followed for UG and 75 % attendance for LL.M students.

The relevant information will be provided to the admitted students 1 week prior to the commencement of classes.

HNLU is the only University with a fund base of Rs 100 lakhs earmarked for Moot sponsorship at National and International Level with the HNLU Team having cleared National and qualified for international rounds of Jessup Moot 2022.

A detailed selection and funding process is managed by the Moot Court Committee.

  • HNLU is a safe campus with over 53 security professionals (including male and female security guards) working in 3 shifts round the clock for ensuring the safety and security of the residents.
  • CC TV monitoring is on the anvil and will be installed by July/August.
  • As HNLU is a lush green campus, reptiles are often spotted on campus. Students are required to be vigilant during their movement on campus. Anti-Venom kits are stocked in the campus to be used in emergency cases.
  • HNLU has a dedicated Student Bar Council which will be re-constituted through an Election in August 2022.
  • Internship and Recruitment Committee facilitates internship and placement with Law Firms/Corporate Houses/Advocates etc.

Ragging is punishable by Law and monitored by an Anti-Ragging Committee.
