
Justice P. N. Prakash, a distinguished legal luminary, served as a Judge of the Madras High Court from 2013 to 2023. He embarked on his legal journey by enrolling as an advocate with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu on January 18, 1984. With an extensive practice in criminal law, he appeared before various courts, including the Madras High Court’s Principal Seat and Madurai Bench, the Supreme Court of India, and numerous subordinate courts. Justice Prakash held several prestigious positions, including Additional Special Public Prosecutor for the NDPS Act and Special Public Prosecutor for the Narcotics Control Bureau. He also contributed significantly to legal education as a guest lecturer at the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy-Hyderabad, Police Training College-Tamil Nadu, National Academy of Customs, Excise & Narcotics-Chennai, Staff Academic Council, University of Madras, Dr.Ambedkar Law College Chennai and Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy-Dehradun. He has been a part of the editorial board of the prestigious Madras Law Journal (Criminal). Post-retirement, he continues to influence the legal field as a Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court.
