No. A candidate having cast certificate from any State other than Chhattisgarh and Domicile certificate issued by a competent authority from the State of Chhattisgarh shall not be eligible for admission under CG Domicile SC/ST/OBC/DFF category.

In order to take admission under CG Domicile SC/ST/OBC/DFF category, in addition to CG domicile certificate, the candidate must produce a SC/ST/OBC/DFF certificate issued by a competent authority from the State of Chhattisgarh.

  • The ‘Counselling Registration Fee’ and the ‘Confirmation Fee’ paid to the CLAT Consortium will be adjusted at the time of paying the University Fees.

  • The allotted Candidates will be required to pay the balance amount of University Fee via online mode.

  1. There are separate Air Conditioned Dining halls for boys and girls inside the hostel complex.
  2. The charges towards dining is paid by the student in advance from June to December / January to June separately to the University which is paid to the contractor by the University.
  3. Currently the mess fee is charged @ Rs. 138/- per day and it includes (a) Breakfast including Coffee & Tea, (b) Lunch, (c) Evening Coffee & Tea, and (d) Dinner (The Mess Charges are subject to revision from time to time as per the agreement).
  4. A detailed note on the term the conditions regarding dinning services will be provided to the students at the time of joining the University physically at the beginning of the semester.

To be eligible for admission under the NRI Category Seats, either the candidate or his/her parents should be an NRI and the Candidate must have appeared in CLAT – 2024 under the NRI Category.

The NRI Sponsored Candidate quota has been abolished since 2021

To be eligible for admission under the Foreign National Category Seats, the applicant should be a foreign national holding a foreign passport, who has passed senior secondary (10+2) with 45% marks from India or abroad.

  • The First Year UG students will be provided with shared accommodation with attached balcony in the D-Block of the hostel.
  • Second to Fifth-year boys and girls have separate hostels with furnished single room accommodation and attached balcony.
  • Single room accommodation for Post Graduate boys and girls.
  • State of the art kitchen and Air-conditioned dining complex for girls and boys inside their respective halls of residence.
  • RO drinking water, solar-powered hot water facilities in the bath areas.
  • The hostel complexes have an in-built well-equipped gymnasium complex, indoor sports and recreation rooms with televisions.

The required minimum facilities provided by the University are as follows :

  3. One writing Table
  4. One Chair
  5. One Steel Almirah with Full size Mirror (In first year hostel)/ Open shelf in other hostels)
  6. One Fan
  7. One Tube light
  • Mattress

  • Pillows, bedsheets, blankets, etc.
  • Buckets, mugs, and necessary toiletries.

Hostel Rooms are NOT air-conditioned. However, the students can install a portable air cooler with the help of outside vendors.

Note: Any other gadgets/appliances like AC / Refrigerator / Microwave oven/ Toaster/ Coffee Maker/ Electric Kettle/ TV/Music system are strictly prohibited

Medical Centre

The University has tied up with a leading medical centre of the city to provide on-campus consultation of Male and Female doctors in the morning and evening. The Medical Centre located in the Utility Centre has beds and essential pharma stocks.

The University has two ambulances to ply to the city hospitals in case of any emergency.

Counselling Facility

The University has an online counselling facility with a professional counselling agency called ‘Your-DOST’.

Visiting Psychiatrist on Campus

The University has added the services of a Psychiatric Counsellor to have on campus consultation twice a week and off campus consultation at city. 

The University campus is equipped with advanced internet facilities. The Learning Resource Centres, Classrooms, and the hostel block for 1st years is equipped with Wi-Fi internet connectivity.

The hostel blocks meant for 2nd Year to 5th year students is provided with internet connectivity through LAN Cables.

The city transport corporation operates air-conditioned buses at regular intervals of 3o minutes which can be boarded in front of the University main gate.

Additionally, the University has two buses of 50-seater capacity which shuttles from University campus to Raipur city at specific intervals.

The University arranges laundry services on campus. They visit the University hostels on specific days for collecting and delivering.

  • COLOSSUS: HNLU’s landmark social and cultural event with an average outlay of 25 Lakhs
  • HNMCC: Premier Moot Court Event with an outlay 30 + Lakhs

 Both are a must participate signature events amongst the law school circuit.

Both boys and girls have a state-of-the-art Gymnasium in the central hostels with indoor badminton courts and table tennis facility.

Outdoor sports facilities inside the campus include a football ground with a proposed synthetic running track around it, a cricket ground, lawn tennis court, two basketball courts and one volleyball court respectively.

The Swami Vivekananda Airport is 15 minutes’ drive from the campus and the Raipur railway station is 35 km from the campus.

The University has a beautifully designed three-storied library with air-conditioned reading halls having a seating capacity of 400 students at a time. The library has numerous modern stacks with a varied and rich collection of textbooks, journals, reference books and periodicals. The library regularly subscribes to useful legal databases such as Manupatra, Westlaw, HEIN Online, SCC Online, AIR Web world, Lexis Nexis, EBC Reader, Legit Quest, JSTOR, etc. The university also has online access to 77 Cambridge Journals. It also provides environment-friendly spacious lounges which are just below the open-to-sky area protected from rain and direct sunlight by transparent polymer sheets.

  • The book issuance timming is from 10.00 am to 8.30 pm on all working days of the University
  • The reading halls are open from 6.00 pm to 11.30 p.m. on working days and from 10.00 am to 11.30 pm on Sunday
  • The University has 21 air-conditioned, well-furnished and spacious smart class equipped lecture halls meeting the advanced standard of academics.
  •  Another 6 rooms are under furnishing stage.

The University has a night canteen in the halls of residence, Bank, ATMs and a Utility Centre having eight shops operated on a contract basis that sell snacks, ice creams, beverages and minor needs. There is also a unisex salon inside the Utility Centre

The Classes will be conducted in physical mode and the attendance policy as prescribed by the Bar Council of India to be followed for UG 70% and 75 % attendance for LL.M students.

The relevant information will be provided to the admitted students 1 week prior to the commencement of classes.

HNLU is the only University which receives Rs. 100 lakhs for sponsoring the students to participate in the National and International Moot Court Competitions, Seminars and Conferences. However, this is subject to the disbursement of fund by the Government of Chhattisgarh from time to time.

A detailed selection and funding process is managed by the Moot Court Committee of the University.

  • HNLU is a safe campus with over 53 security professionals (including male and female security guards) working in 3 shifts round the clock for ensuring the safety and security of the residents.
  • CCTV monitoring.
  • HNLU has a dedicated Student Bar Association
  • Internship and Recruitment Committee facilitates internship and placement with Law Firms/Corporate Houses/Advocates etc.

Ragging is punishable by Law and monitored by an Anti-Ragging Committee.
