SHRI SATISH CHANDRA VERMA

ADVOCATE GENERAL OF CHHATTISGARH

Shri Satish Chandra Verma, the Hon’ble Advocate General of Chhattisgarh, was born on October 14, 1973. He received his early education at St. Paul School in Raipur and Government School in Raipur. He pursued his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (B.Sc. Maths) from Raipur and later completed his L.L.B. from Kusum Tai Dabke College in Raipur. In 1997, he enrolled with the Bar Council of M.P., Jabalpur, and began his legal career.

 

Mr. Verma practiced law at the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur, until October 2000 and then continued his legal practice in the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, starting from November 2000. His legal career has been marked by his involvement in a wide range of cases, including those related to constitutional validity, challenges to state policies, high-profile criminal matters in the state of Chhattisgarh, as well as cases concerning the State Bar Council of Chhattisgarh and the Lawyer Association throughout the Chhattisgarh region.

 

His contributions and legal acumen were recognized when he was appointed as the Additional Advocate General of Chhattisgarh on January 2, 2019, a position he held until May 31, 2019. Following this, he was appointed as the Advocate General of the State of Chhattisgarh on June 1, 2019. In this role, Shri Satish Chandra Verma plays a crucial part in representing the legal interests and upholding the law for the state of Chhattisgarh. His extensive experience and dedication to the field of law make him a notable figure in the legal community of the region.
